Here is Leah and her little man, JR Cash. She adopted him last November from the Red River Humane Society. He was found in a ditch with other puppies from the same litter. He's a Schnauzer mix and will be 2 in January... he is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. This year for Halloween, he was Willie Nelson!

Meet Abby Gail. She was a 4-year-old Great Dane that Chelsea rescued when she was 3. At the time, she worked as a office manager at a local shelter in Texarkana, TX. From the moment she saw her she knew she had to take her home!! She was moving out of her parents home, and felt she needed a bit of security being by herself. She was her life, love, and meant so very much to Chelsea. On 7-29-07, she passed away from a gastric torsion (aka the bloat). She misses her every single day, and when she was here, she never imagined life without her. Chelsea's passion for animals consumes her, and not a day goes by that she remembers how great Abby was and that she was Chelsea's best friend.

This is Michael and his cat Daisy! His grandma recently had a stroke so they thought they could buy her something that could keep her company and cheer her up. So they got her a cat and she named it Daisy. About 3 months later (after it came when called by daisy) they found out it was a boy! So Daisy is a boy... but shhh! Don't tell anyone. Daisy is just a bit too hyper for grandma, so Michael takes care of 'em both!

Kristy and Brent's dog is a boxer named Caiti. It was winter 2001 when Kristy first got her and she was really sick. For the first year of her life, she was very sick with skin issues and had no energy, and never played like a puppy. Kristy almost gave up because she was so sick and nothing she was doing for her was enough. But finally they found a vet who had an answer! Kristy never wanted an indoor dog or thought it was necessary to spend money on a dog like that, but once she got her and let her stay in the through the winter, she was stuck! So... with more money shelled out, Kristy gave her five baths a week, popped pills down her, and finally she got better. Thankfully she's not had any relasps. She's spoiled as she's never slept outside, she's never went without, she normally has two beds of her own. She's not allowed on the couch, so Kristy and Brent have plastic tote lids that go up on the furniture at night and when they're gone. Caiti's very smart but she's definitely ornery and tries to get by with things! She'll play fetch in the house, but when you go outside, you can forget it; you're wasting your time. She follows every step Kristy takes if she thinks she's leaving the house. She can't say good bye or Caiti goes crazy running after her. But it's all good... she loves her!

Here is a picture of Julie's cat, whom she calls her “Kit Kat”. (His real name is Sam.) This picture was taken when there was a tornado coming through and Julie and her sister had to work. So they put Sam into her sister's bathroom. When she came home on her 30 minute break to let him out because the watch was over, this is how she found him!

This is Rudy, Loriann's 'rescue' dog. He showed up on her doorstep almost totally hairless and hungry in late summer 2000. She thinks everyone in town had scared him out of their yard with brooms because to this day he is terrified of brooms and trash bags. (Poor Rudy!) He looked so bad, his skin was scaley and oozing... Loriann didn't really know what was wrong with him. She didn't see how he could be saved. But after several months, she gained his trust and decided to take him to the vet. Rudy sat in the backseat like a person, so calm and relaxed. It was as if he knew she was trying to help him! She dreaded the vets diagnosis and figured he would encourage her to have him euthanized. Rudy's diagnosis wasn't great, but it could have been worse... he had demodectic mange. The vet said that it was treatable and that he probably contracted it from his mother. Several months and several hundred dollars later (it was worth every dime!), Rudy looked like a new dog!! His coat is beautiful and he is so healthy. She is so greatful that Rudy showed up on her doorstep, little did he know that he had hit the 'doggie lottery'. He's been her constant and loyal companion for the past seven years... she wouldn't trade him for anything in the world!!!
